WAP Billing allows users to make payments via their mobile phones, through an interface resembling PC web payment services, but without the need to enter card details. The WAP Billing payment page presented on the mobile handset explicitly states the terms of the service or content, the name of the item and its cost, together with a safe purchase ‘Buy Now’ link. After selecting that link, payment is directly charged to the subscriber’s mobile phone bill, without having to send or receive a Premium rate Text Message.

Following a successful payment, mobile content is instantly delivered: media, or an application, will download to the mobile handset, or a subscription service will begin.
