J&B Software First to Integrate with New OPEX AS180™ Retail Payment Automation Workstation

The integration allows for imaging and data recognition to occur in conjunction with mail extraction, which eliminates a separate first-pass process. The benefits to transaction processing customers include the opportunity for an enhanced remittance processing workflow and reduced risks associated with document handling.

The new OPEX AS180 and the J&B solution were recently beta-tested at a major retail financial institution headquartered in the Northeast. The testing concluded that this integration provides the capability for organizations to image and recognize data immediately out-of-the envelope and extend their entire remittance processing workflow into the mailroom resulting in exceptional productivity, reduced costs and faster deposit time.

The OPEX AS180 is an advanced mail extraction and capture device that is specifically designed to handle retail items including check-only, coupon-only and multi check/multi document transactions. This device will allow for Wide Open IEM support, 200 dpi bi-tonal or optional full grayscale imaging, plug-in access and 5 pocket sorting. Current Model 51 Extraction Desks can be upgraded with AS180s in the field. The Model 51/AS180 combination greatly reduces the work area needed for traditional remittance processing.
