Discover Financial Services Receives Honors for Technology That Deploys Business Models Faster
RIVERWOODS, Ill.--(AllPayNews.com)--Nov. 11, 2008--Discover Financial Services has received Computerworld's inaugural Enterprise Intelligence Award that honors best practices in the use of information technology solutions built on Teradata platforms.
Discover was the winner in the "Integrated View of the Business" category for its Integrated Decisioning System project, which is designed to speed up the time to market for deploying business models and strategies that help the company more effectively respond to changing market conditions and more quickly gain insights into customer behavior.
"This recognition underscores Discover's commitment to deploy technology that contributes to the company's bottom line and brings out the best in our talented employees," said Diane Offereins, chief technology officer at Discover.
The awards program is independently managed by Computerworld, sponsored by Teradata, with judges selected from senior IT management who themselves have received past industry awards.
Judges evaluated and ranked the finalists and winners against criteria that included demonstration of strategic importance to the business, substantial customer impact and financial return and measurable payback. Winners were announced Oct. 13 at the Teradata Partners User Group Conference & Expo conference in Las Vegas.
